Start with your airport arrival time

Dubai Airports currently recommends arriving at least three hours before departure at both Dubai International, DXB, and Dubai World Central, DWC. Follow your airline’s instructions for your particular flight, including any longer allowance.

Your airport arrival time is different from the check-in closing time or boarding deadline. You need time to complete the departure formalities and reach your gate.

Work backwards to your pickup

The departure plan considers:

  • Your flight date, airport and terminal.
  • The airport arrival time recommended for your journey.
  • The drive from your exact pickup address at that time of day.
  • An allowance for possible road delays.
  • Time to load luggage, board the car and check any child seats.

Plan the pickup around reaching the terminal, not simply around the estimated driving time.

A map’s journey estimate is one input. The hotel entrance, building access and correct departure terminal also matter. Give the full address and meeting entrance rather than only “Downtown Dubai” or “Dubai Marina”.

Have your party and luggage ready at the agreed pickup time. If you are leaving a hotel, allow time to complete checkout and collect any stored bags.

Confirm the airport, terminal and date

Check the airport code and terminal on your ticket and in your airline’s current instructions. DXB and DWC are different airports; include the code with your flight number when arranging the transfer.

Flights shortly after midnight need particular care. Your pickup may be on the previous calendar date. Confirm the pickup date and flight date separately with the desk.

If the airline changes your terminal or schedule, tell UMC so the departure plan can be reviewed. A displayed flight delay does not automatically mean you should leave later: check the airline’s instructions before changing your pickup.

Early arrival and waiting at your address

Your chauffeur arrives ahead of the agreed pickup time at no charge. This is separate from the waiting allowance after your booked pickup time.

Hotel and home pickups include 30 minutes of complimentary waiting. Beyond that, waiting is charged at the car’s hourly rate.

The waiting allowance does not change the time needed to reach the airport. Being ready for the agreed pickup helps preserve the departure plan.

  • Flight number and departure date.
  • Airport code and terminal.
  • Your preferred pickup date and time.
  • Full pickup address and meeting entrance.
  • Passenger numbers and luggage details.
  • Any child-seat requirements or additional boarding time needed.
  • A contact number for the passenger travelling.
