For a group airport transfer, start with the passenger count and the luggage guide for the car you are considering. Then check the seating layout against everyone travelling and the bags they will bring.
Customers regularly ask us which car will fit their luggage. We advise before booking, using the party's actual requirements. The details below explain how our SUV and V Class arrangements work.
How our seven-seat SUVs are arranged
UMC's GMC Yukon XL and long-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade have three rows. The second row can have a bench or captain's seats, requested when booking. That choice changes the passenger count.
| Seating position | With a second-row bench | With second-row captain's seats |
|---|---|---|
| Front row | Chauffeur and one passenger | Chauffeur and one passenger |
| Second row | Three passengers | Two passengers |
| Third row | Three passengers | Three passengers |
| Total, excluding the chauffeur | Up to seven passengers | Up to six passengers |
Ask for the bench or captain's-seat arrangement when you book so the team can confirm the layout your party needs.
With all three rows occupied, luggage goes behind the third row. If everyone can sit in the first two rows, the third row can be folded to make more space. That leaves up to four passenger places with a second-row bench or three with captain's seats, excluding the chauffeur.
Use the reduced passenger count whenever the third row is folded.
When we recommend the V Class
For a larger party travelling together with luggage, we recommend considering the Mercedes Benz V Class. Our vehicle has one passenger place beside the chauffeur, three rear-facing passenger places in the second row and three forward-facing places in the third row. It carries up to seven passengers, excluding the chauffeur.
For our airport bookings, we keep those passenger rows in place. The luggage area is behind the occupied rear row, with more vertical space than in our SUVs. That layout is useful when the party needs the passenger seats as well as luggage space.
The rear-facing second row is worth knowing about before you choose. Tell us if that arrangement does not suit anyone in your party so we can discuss another option.
Share your full luggage list with us when comparing these layouts. That helps us check the space needed alongside the seats your party will use.
Start with the luggage and size guides
The published fleet guides give case counts and luggage sizes for each vehicle. Start with the V Class luggage guide, Yukon XL luggage guide or Escalade luggage guide. Open the Size guide beside the luggage combinations to compare your bags with the sizes shown.
Then tell us how many cases and cabin bags you have, with details of any pushchair, golf bag or other item. If a pushchair folds, share its folded dimensions if you know them. Mention larger cases and equipment separately so we can consider the whole load.
The same applies to passengers. Count babies and children in the party and tell us about any requested child seats. Their seating arrangements need to be considered before the vehicle is confirmed.
Let us know if you add bags or passengers after booking. We can review the vehicle and seating requirements with you before the car reaches the airport.
Planning for a larger group
For larger groups, consider a Mercedes Benz Sprinter or a bus. Get in touch with your passenger and luggage details so we can recommend an available option.
Include different flights or destinations in that conversation. A group travelling together on one flight has a different collection plan from people arriving separately. If you are using several cars, tell us how the passengers and luggage will be divided between them.
What to send before booking
A useful enquiry includes:
- The number of adults and children, with any child-seat requirements.
- The number of cases and cabin bags, plus large or unusual items.
- Any pushchair and its folded dimensions if available.
- Your preferred vehicle and seating arrangement, if you have one.
- Flight numbers, arrival dates and the destination addresses.
We can then advise on the car before you confirm the journey. Start with our Dubai airport transfer service or send those details with your booking enquiry.
